Blackpool and Fylde Pubwatch are pleased to announce that Pubwatch Online has now gone live. This makes Blackpool the first town in Lancashire to have gone live with a fully secure Pubwatch Online.

Pubwatch Online is a fantastic new computerised way of keeping all the Blackpool and Fylde licensees informed about who is currently on a pub watch ban. The system enables the licensees and their staff to keep an eye on potential trouble-makers, preventing them from entering licensed premises which in turn helps to reduce alcohol related violent crime in Blackpool and the Fylde and assists in making the streets and licensed premises of Blackpool, Lytham, St Annes and Kirkham a safer place for locals and visitors alike.

The go-live date was finally agreed by Blackpool’s Business Improvement District who administrates Blackpool and Fylde Pubwatch and ensured that the stringent security controls needed to run a high tec system like Pubwatch Online were fully water tight.

The system has been developed in partnership with Blackpool and Fylde Pubwatch, The Business Improvement District and Lancashire Constabulary and will enable all Pubwatch members to access information in a quicker and far more effective way than was previously available.

Police Sergeant Robert Gomery, Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant Blackpool Town Centre said

“This new system will enable the police through the Business Improvement District to pass urgent warning messages to licensees and even gives us the opportunity to pass details of vulnerable missing persons to the licensing trade, increasing the number of people looking for them by hundreds. The success of this scheme should enable a similar scheme called Hotel Watch to be launched later in the year and will allow assist Nightsafe operation which was re-launched recently”.

Eileen Ormand the Blackpool’s Deputy Town Centre & Business Improvement Manger said

“Pubwatch Online will enable us here at the Business Improvement District to ensure that the Licensees are aware of potential problems or new bans for their pubs and clubs within the earliest possible time. Pubwatch Online will be a great help in making our town centre environments safer and more hospitable for visitors and locals alike.”
